Hi ,
Â
In Volume 9 of DSPremier 2023, we do so much mask-play that your head is going to start to spin -- I mean, not in a grotesque way, but in a super-hero kind of way.
<wink>
Â
So I thought that this Quick Tip for Journaling on Masks would fit right in.
Â
Here's the Problem
I LOVE to use dark and busy backgrounds, but doing so does not leave a lot of options for journaling. For example, on the scrapbook page below, I'd like to place some journaling over to the right by the date tag. The background, however, is too busy for journaling.
Â
Â
Here's One Possible (and Quite Savvy) Solution
Step One: Add an additional mask directly above
the background paper and recolor it to match the main color of the background. See the middle image below.
Step Two: Add journaling in a color that contrasts with the mask. See the image on the right below.
I LOVE how the journaling blends in, but does not blend in, if you know what I mean!
Â
Â
By the way, I'll show you how to create the complex photo mask shown on my page in Lesson 1 of Digital Scrapper Premier 2023 Volume 9. You'll find details on
how to enroll below. Â
