It’s not just me who’s graying. This week on the blog, layer masks are graying as well!

Did you know . . . that when you mask things away with a layer mask, you don’t have to just use white and black?

In addition to white, which reveals pixels 100%, and black, which conceals pixels 100%, you can also fill or brush on layer masks with varying shades of gray. For example, filling a layer mask with 50% gray would result in the pixels of that layer being at 50% opacity.

Now, if you’re like me, you’re saying to yourself, “Okay, but how can that help me in my everyday digital scrapbooking?”

Below you’ll find a new FREE video tutorial showing a practical application of gray being used in a layer mask. I think you’ll have fun with it. And at the very least, you should be able to create a pretty project.
