🧡 Three Similar Somethings - Try it On a Project

Last week, I came across these leaves in my yard, and I thought they looked nice together, so I took a picture with my cell phone.

This photo has been haunting me since I took it. I kept coming back to it to look at it on my phone. I wasn’t sure why, except that I liked it.

This caused me to take some time to really think about this photo. I studied it and made a list of the reasons why I liked it so much. The list was short. It’s simple, with a neat gradient of similar colors, and the three leaves were different but similar enough that they looked nice together. So, no earth-shattering reasons.

But this got me wondering if I could use this idea for a digital scrapbook page or card. I thought, what if I made a design around three similar somethings? It could be three similar flowers, three similar leaves, or 3 similar buttons, etc.

With Father’s Day this past weekend, I decided to use the idea of three similar leaves to make a fun Father’s Day card.

In this case, I used the same leaf, but shaded it in light, medium, and dark. And it also worked with my pun - as I love a good punny card!

So this week, consider trying three simple somethings on one of your projects. There are endless ways you could take this idea and make it your own.

I can’t wait to see where my simple photo of leaves takes you. Sparks of creativity like this are so much fun because they can lead to many cool and different ideas.
