Hi ,

I know that many of you are still wondering if the Get Organized Now! class is right for you. Here's one email I recently received:

"I use Lightroom with Elements 9. Lightroom, of course, is my organizing program. How would your system differ or benefit me from what I am using now? Is your method just another way of using the different organizing programs available or is this something for people who just use one folder for everything?"

Here's my response to this question. I hope it will also help you make up your mind as well!

If you're already using an organizing program, that's good! You're one step ahead! If you can find everything you need when you need it, then you probably don't need my class. People who take my class will be in various levels of organization--or disorganization!

In the class we'll go over:
  • Choosing a method of organization--as I've said before, we'll be talking about 3 styles of organization and how to proceed with this class depending on the type of organizer you are
  • Workflow--the journey a photo takes from the moment you snap the picture to getting it on a scrapbook page
  • Some ways to make sure you can quickly find photos and scrapbooking files without tagging (let's face it--some people just don't want to tag or don't have time to tag, or they may get started but get bogged down)
  • We'll spend time on keywords and tagging for those who want to be super organized. We'll cover digital photos and also scrapbooking kits, including papers and elements, but again, we'll talk about more than one level of tagging to match the various styles of organizers
  • How to handle extras like brushes, styles, actions, and templates
  • How to organize your scrapbooking tutorials
  • And finally, we'll return to our scrapbooking workflow with ways to make that more streamlined so you know what's been done and what's left to do, and so you can speed up the process. I'll share my newest tool that has revolutionized my own scrapbooking productivity!
I hope that helps with your decision!

San Francisco: Schedule Update

Linda
Last week, I mentioned that I'll be in San Francisco teaching a seminar for Adobe. My class schedule has changed a bit--they moved the time and also added a 30 minute stretch break in the middle of my two hour class.

I will now be presenting on Wednesday, July 27 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. and then 3:30-4:30. I will repeat the same presentation the following day from 12:00-1:00 and 1:30-2:30. Still double check the online schedule before you come--they've already switched around my class time twice!

Here's the basic info again:

I'm giving a Photoshop Elements presentation in San Francisco at their new "Pop-Up" store at 550 Sutter St. near Union Square, and my topics are Creative Photo Enhancement with Photoshop Elements and Extraordinary Scrapbooking with Photoshop Elements.
