I recently got some good advice from a friend: "Breathe in... breathe out... go sit in the sun and watch the birds for a few minutes."
I don't know how stress affects you, but I do know something about myself. When I get hit with a problem that stresses me, I'm like a bulldog -- I just want to go at that problem full bore and wrestle it to the ground. But sometimes, in life and scrapbooking, that just isn't the best way to do it.
Think of a tough problem on a scrapbook page you're creating, for example. You know the moment -- when it just doesn't look right, and you don't know how to fix it. You could sit there, getting more and more frustrated, trying things that don't work... OR
You could take a deep breath, get up from your chair, and come back later when your eye is fresh and life is in perspective again. I know which one I like the sound of.
Get a cup of coffee.
Call up your sister and chat.
Wash some dishes.
Pet a cat.
Read a magazine.
Or, take my friend's advice, go sit in the sun, and watch the birds. (And, since it's fall, you'd better take advantage of that sun before it goes away!)
I guarantee you won't regret it.
Love and scrapbooking success,
