Hi ,
Have you noticed how inspiring it is to look at art? I'm talking about any kind of art--not just pretty scrapbook pages.
Here's what I've noticed. When I see art I enjoy, or when I participate in crafty projects, my mind slips into a different gear. Something in my brain slows down while other things expand and speed up. I slip into Wonder Mode.
While in Wonder Mode, I have more creative ideas, I can write poetry, and I'd swear that little endorphins run through my body telling all the workaholic cells to shut up and relax.
That's why it's good to cross-pollinate art. Slip out of your scrapbook-only-mode and get some new creative juices flowing that will, in turn, make you a better scrapbooker. My daughter Allison and I did that last week when we painted ceramics. I painted a dance shoe. Allison made Christmas ornaments.
Some art is so unusual that I marvel at the talented people who think up such creative ideas. A few weeks ago, I met a new friend named Joelle Meijer who makes the most amazing things out of paper plates. Check out these fun art pieces!
