I received a picture text from my hunk this last week very similar to the image above. He just happened to glance down at the odometer of our Suzuki as the numbers turned over to 100,000 miles. The photo prompted me to sit up and take inventory. Could this be the beginning of the end? How much time do we have before we do the dreaded auto loan? Why didn't I see this coming?
100,000 miles is not necessarily a bad thing -- if you've maintained your vehicle through the years.
How about my scrapbooking? Can I say the same? Are my family memories being consistently maintained? Am I getting memories recorded and preserved in a timely fashion? Am I keeping up my scrapbooking skills? What is my status?
The truth of the matter is: my Suzuki is in better shape than my memories! Yikes!!
Can we make a pact? Let's not get down to the 100,000 mile mark in life only to look back and wish we'd maintained better. Let's do something now that will leave a legacy -- something more than just a memory. Take a class, find accountability, start a blog, keep your camera on the counter, and make time to record your memories. Don't be caught wondering where the miles have gone at the 100,000 mile mark.
Go forth and shine your light,
