Hi ,

In a recent Digi Scrap Tutorial, I shared a small part of our Christmas Tree story.
Part of what I didn't tell you was about who took the photos.

So back at Eby Pines, after spotting 'our' tree, I'm thinking to myself, "We need a photo of ALL of us with our tree. This is a family friendly environment. I suppose these people can be trusted."
I decide to ask someone to snap a few photos of us. After all, I'm not shy.

There was a woman up ahead with a grown family. I reasoned that she was a good choice. Surely she had lots of logged hours behind the shutter.

I asked if she'd mind snapping a few photos of us with our tree. She responded that she's not really good with a camera, but she'd give it her best shot.

What was I to say?!? "Ok, never mind. I don't need more un-scrap-able family photos"?? I was stuck.
So I handed her my Canon DSLR.

Long Story Shortened

The bad news:
  • I spent 20 minutes teaching her how to press the shutter button.
  • My family had a big "I told you this was a bad idea" look on their faces.
  • We have no good photos of all of us with our 'perfect' Christmas tree.
The good news:
  • I made a new friend.
  • We had lots to laugh about on the way home.
  • Memories were made regardless of the rotten photos.
The Moral of the Story

Hand your camera over. Great memories can be made even without you behind the viewfinder. You might even end up with some really great photos of yourself. At the very least you'll come away with some really bad photos of yourself that you can laugh about later.

In the words of Paul Harvey, "And that's the rest of the story."

Have a great week, friend.

Perfect Print Proportion Zoom Percentage... whew, that is a mouthful!
But it's not nearly as geeky as it sounds, and it can totally change the way you scrap!
