Hi ,
I LOVE it when a kit with a lot of word art comes across my desk. To me, word art makes a kit more valuable because of its amazing versatility. Let me help you think outside the box with this month's Premier kit -- Photographie by Joanne Brisebois. Joanne has included nine different word art strips for us play with. Check this out:
The Pile Up. I love this first look on a scrapbook page. Just take a handful of word art strips and pile them on top of one another. This will always look best when grounded (tacked down) by a line of stitching or a thin strip of paper.
The Overlay. Journaling strips don't have to STAY journaling strips. Use your Magic Wand tool to extract the word art from the strip. Then you can use it as the title of your page or a large and very opaque overlay.

The Mini Strips. This may not work for all word art strips, but it works GREAT for the ones in Joanne's kit. Simply use your Marquee tool to separate the word art into small strips (or even tiny strips with a single letter apiece), then put some space between the new strips you've created.
The Journaling Standout. Found a super cool saying that could have one word replaced by a word art strip? Go for it! Just plop that strip right over the journaling. No one will ever know. This also works well for plain ole journaling.
The Dynamic Duo. This is a quick and easy eye catcher for a scrapbook page. Simply place one word art strip on top of the other, slightly skew them away from each other, and pin them both down. Don't be afraid to overdo your overlay. As long as most of the word art underneath is showing, people will still be able to read what it says.
So there you have five simple, think-outside-the-box ideas for using word art strips on your scrapbook page. Looking forward to seeing your fabulous layouts in the gallery this month!
Have a great week, friend.
