Hi ,

I love the look of clips in a kit -- all shiny and bright -- but I often struggle with how to put them on my page so they don't look awkward. As I set out on a journey to learn from the masters, I didn't have to go far. These great ideas were gleaned from our very own December Premier Gallery.

Clip Examples

Tip #1: Clip a journaling tag to a paper frame.
The paper frame in this month's Premier kit (Our Holiday by SMJ) is the perfect style to try out this tip on. The key here, as in most examples, is to keep the clip small and tuck other small things under it. Also you'll want to make sure the clip doesn't get pushed too close to the frame. You want it to look believable.

Tip #2: Anchor a photo to your page by clipping it to a banner.
Banners can be another source of confusion for scrapbookers. (Tips on those coming soon!) One great way to make a banner look good, however, is to clip something to it. In this case I've just clipped a few background papers and a simple photo. You just cannot go wrong with this combination.

Tip #3: Clip some things to a journaling card and just lay it on your page.
When all else fails, stick to the clip's most basic function: use it to clip papers together. In this case, it's a whole notebook of paper and one cute little Santa. Kinda gives you the feeling that the note is all about Santa Clause.

So there you have a few quick and easy ways to put together some Christmas fun.

Have a great week, friend.

P.S. Special thanks to Andrea Graves for letting me play with a few photos of her sons, Sam and Carson. I used papers and embellishments from the Our Holiday kit by SMJDesigns. This is our current Premier kit.
