August 13, 2013 | Digital Scrapper News | Volume 11 Issue 32
Hi ,
Have you heard this quote? "If you want to be a master, you must master the basics."
This is as true in digital scrapbooking as it is in other walks of life.
Recently, a number of you took advantage of the sale we ran on my class Learn Digital Scrapbooking. I want to congratulate you for taking action to learn the basics of digital scrapbooking! I hope you follow through and watch the lessons, but even more than that, I hope you DO the lessons, because here's another truth:
A study done at the University of Texas found that people remember...
- 10 percent of what they read
- 20 percent of what they hear
- 30 percent of what they see
- 50 percent of what they see and hear
- 70 percent of what they say, and
- 90 percent of what they do and say
If you're already past the basics, be sure to give encouraging comments to others in our Gallery and be a resource to answer questions in the Forum. That will keep you sharp, too!

Speaking of Premier membership, I want to congratulate Premier member kimmer for winning Top Pick for her page, Little Surfer Girl! kimmer captured a wonderful photo of her daughter surfing and then made it the center of attention using the technique Susie Roberts taught in her Watery Photo Masks Premier tutorial.

Patterned Paper Tip
In last week's Digi Scrap Tutorial, Lydia Tarbox showed us one very effective way to use patterned paper. Here's another fun way to use patterned paper--on different "chipboard" letters:
