Hi ,

I love Digi Scrap Tutorials. Don’t you?

They are free. They are quick. They are versatile. BOOM. What’s not to love?

Just last weekend I needed a thank you card...pronto. Thanks to this week’s DST by Jenifer Juris, I was able to whip up this little beauty in less than five minutes.

In the DST, Jenifer demonstrates how to quickly blur a photo to create a dreamy background—like the one you see on my card. (She’s even including free word art.)

Don’t have any photos with the colors you’re looking for? Here are a couple tips:
  • Stock Photos. Try searching the web for a free stock photo with the colors you want. This is often much quicker than sifting through your own stash.
  • Color Adjustment. Forget trying to find a photo with matchy-matchy colors. Just use a Hue/Saturation Adjustment layer over your photo. Playing with the Hue slider will almost always bring up something you can live with.
I know you’re going to LOVE playing with Jenifer’s DST. We’re both looking forward to seeing what you create. Have a great week.

P.P.S. The card above was created using this month’s Premier kit (Spring Has Sprung by Mommyish) and a mask by Anna Aspnes (1 of 10 included in this month’s Premier). Learn more about March Premier. The fonts I used were Orator and Carlotta. If you’d like to have the little thank you card I made, click here to download.
