Hi ,

Maybe you are a bit like me.

I find Photoshop’s Filters to be irresistible. I might even admit to them being slightly addictive.

The irresistibility of Filters doubled for me on the day I realized my Filter Gallery dialog box contained an Applied Filter List.

The Applied Filter List is located in the lower right corner of the Filter Gallery dialog box. (In the Menu Bar, choose Filter > Filter Gallery.) It is here that you can stack and rearrange multiple filters to see how they interact with each other and with your image.

To begin the addiction (sorry to be such an enabler) of multiple filters:
  • First, apply a single filter to your image. In my screenshot, I started with Diffuse Glow.
  • Next, click on the New Effect Layer icon located under the Applied Filter List.
  • Finally, choose another filter. I chose Watercolor.
Also try:
  • Click on the Visibility icon of each filter to see what a difference it makes. Not all filters like to play with other filters...Booo.
  • Click and drag on a filter to reposition it within the list. Seriously, this can be mind blowing.
  • Add a third and fourth filter just for kicks and giggles.
Note: Please filter responsibly. Just because you CAN filter your image, doesn’t mean you should. (wink)

Are you also finding Photoshop’s Filters to be irresistible? If so, you will flip over this month’s mini class—WOW Filter Effects. Check out all the details below.

Have a great week, friends.
