Hi ,
Sometimes a gal needs the convenience of a mobile photo editor. During those times, where do you turn?
During a recent 3 day roadtrip, I captured some photos with my phone that I wanted to instantly share with friends and family. Snapseed to the rescue.
For several years now, the Snapseed app (for IOS and Android) has been a leader for editing on the go. And, as soon as you take a peek under its hood, I think you’ll know why.
Snapseed contains many Photoshop-like features, including:
-
a selection tool that works much like Adobe’s Quick Selection tool.
-
a brush tool that works much like Adobe’s Sponge Tool to brush on selective adjustments.
-
a curves adjustment with a histogram. This works amazingly well and is very similar to Photoshop’s Curves adjustment.
Above is a photo I took at a rest area in Tennessee. My phone did a pretty good job considering I was facing into the morning sun, but Snapseed helped me turn the photo into what my eyes actually remembered seeing.
Could the photo still use some adjustment? Probably, yes. But getting this result with only 30 seconds of editing fits right into my no-nonsense approach to photo editing. I’m a fan.
If you’re interested in checking out Snapseed, you can find it FREE in your app store.
Have a great week. I look forward to seeing you the gallery.
