Hi ,

In need of some instant sunshine?

Earlier this week I was in need of a little instant sunshine to add to the Summer SALE image below. I thought you might enjoy seeing my process.

Step 1: I started with a simple starburst. Many of the kits in my kit collection have a starburst. This one from Shine Your Light by Ponytail Designs.

Step 2: I blurred the starburst using a Gaussian blur set to 40 pixels.

Step 3: I filled the blurred starburst with a summery yellow. Ahhhh. Can you feel the warmth?

My hope is that this quick tip for instant sunshine inspires you to look in a fresh way upon the items in your stash. You might be pleasantly surprised by what you can come up with.

Have a great week. Scroll down for more inspiration and the start of our summer newsletter series.

Top Pick for May

Unplug by SharLamb is our TOP PICK of the May Journal Challenge. Her linear design played well with the soothing color scheme and great advice. Her tip to reduce stress by unplugging from the news resonated with me personally and might be helpful for many of you as well.” ~ Jenifer Juris
