Hi ,

Have you ever had someone ask you to “photoshop” a photo for them?

Earlier this year my mother sent me a scanned photo (below, on the left) that was taken of her in 1954. In her note she wondered if I could possibly restore the photo to its original state.

My first thought was, “Yikes!” Not only was the image in serious disrepair, but it had been scanned and rescanned several times over the years which further reduced its quality.

Fast forward to last weekend. With the help of a few Photoshop Elements tools and guidance from Linda’s Help For Heritage Photos class, mom’s photo is a joy to behold. Isn’t she a little doll?

Not only did I use the restored photo on a scrapbook page for myself (above, on the right), but I also had it printed and plan to frame and gift it to mom as a surprise. Shhh! Don’t tell.

I Highly Recommend It
If you are ever in need of a little restoration magic, I highly recommend Linda’s class. It makes a perceivably impossible task not only manageable but enjoyable. You’ll find all the details of the class below. It’s on sale this week!

Have a great week. See you in the galleries.

P.S. Credits for the scrapbook page of my mom can be found in the Team Gallery.

P.P.S. Interested in seeing another restored photo from my collection? Here’s a before and after image of a 58 year old photograph that was also restored using Linda’s class.

SAVE Now - Savor When You’re Ready

In this self-paced class, I’ll show you step-by-step how to preserve and breathe new life into your heritage photos by scanning and fixing them.

And just what is a heritage photo? It’s any photo that needs to be scanned. (I’m willing to bet you have some of those!)
