Knowing how to create a custom shadow -- and being able to do it well -- is a huge game changer in the world of digital scrapbooking.
Regardless of the steps you take to get the job done, here are a few tips to help you be successful.
Tip One: Go Big or Go Home
The biggest mistake people make when custom shadowing is to get too
small of a brush. If your custom shadow is not looking like you think it should, try a bigger brush.
Tip Two: Take Baby Steps
When you using the Smudge tool, always click and drag in teeny tiny segments. Smudging is a memory drain on your computer, so you might not see instant results. Give your
computer time to catch up with your request before smudging again.
Tip Three: Follow the Light
You might be tempted to click and drag in several different directions, but resist. A good custom shadow will only have a single light source and all shadowing should pull away from that
source.
