Bad News First - Goodbye, Old Friend

The gallery and forum at Digital Scrapper has reached the end of its life. It’s time to bury it out in the back forty with the cat and the neighbor’s hamster (long story). We’ve known this was coming for a long time. But, it’s now time to say goodbye to the old friend. But, don’t fret. Read on . . .

The Good News - Hello ComYOUnity

As you know, old friends are irreplaceable. There’s always heartache involved and everyone hates change. But, your fearless leaders have scoured the universe in search of a suitable replacement for the dynamic gallery/forum duo. We are excited to introduce you to “Community.”

Is it the same as what you had before? No. It’s totally different.

Will you like it? That depends on YOU. If you are willing to give Community a chance, without judgment or complaint for 30 days, I am confident you are going to enjoy the benefits.

FAQ

Is Community replacing the current forum and gallery?
Yes. Community is replacing the current forum and gallery. The current forum and gallery will be disabled November 1, 2018.

What will happen to my old gallery?
Your images will be deleted from the current gallery on November 1, 2018. If you want to save your old gallery images and descriptions, we will show you how to do that in Community.

Why is the old forum and gallery going away?
There are many reasons, but here are the top three:

The software powering the old gallery/forum is obsolete. Replacement software is a tremendous (and frankly non-doable) expense.
Traffic in the old gallery/forum does not justify the cost of a traditional replacement. Only a minute percentage of you are actually using the old system.
Traditional gallery/forum software is not mobile friendly. To move forward, we must be mobile friendly.

Why is Community using a Facebook group?
Again, there are many reasons, but here are the top three:

An overwhelming percentage of our members are already on Facebook and are already using it in conjunction with our classes.
Facebook is easily accessible from any computer or device.
Facebook is always current and up to date.

What if I don’t have a Facebook account or simply loathe Facebook?
I understand! I personally don’t like 80% of what Facebook is known for. But Community is a closed group (in its own little world) that utilizes all the good things that Facebook can offer. There will be no drama or politics in Community. Let us help you give it a try.

What is the difference between the Digital Scrapper Page and Community?

The Digital Scrapper page is about US, as a business.
This is where we share tutorials and sales and tips.
Only we can post on our page.
The Digital Scrapper Community is about YOU.
This is where you share images and encouragement and ask questions.
Any approved member can post in Community.

There may be some slight overlap, but Community has been designed to make your creative experience better.
